Creative Arts Weekend | Essential Training

Friday 13 June - Sunday 15 June 2025 in Edinburgh City

Join us for an inspiring weekend of creative exploration, connection, and learning. Designed for qualified child, adolescent and adult counsellors and therapists. We will equip you with playful, mindful, and practical exercises to support your practice and help your clients explore their emotions, process experiences, and achieve personal growth. Leave the weekend with a renewed sense of creativity and purpose, practical tools and activities to use in your practice immediately, new connections and shared inspiration from like-minded professionals. (NB: This weekend will not train you to be a children's counsellor; please see our Diploma Course on this website.)

The Programme:

Igniting the flame of creativity

Friday Evening: 6 - 10 pm

The weekend will begin with an inspiring evening designed to spark connection and creativity. After light refreshments and a warm welcome, we will create a collaborative group art piece.
Then, we’ll gather around the firepit for "The Spark of Hope," an intimate storytelling session in which shared experiences and heartfelt narratives will ignite inspiration and build community.
We’ll close the evening with a reflective activity, giving everyone a chance to settle into the weekend and leave inspired and renewed.

Transforming Relationships

Saturday: Full-Day Workshop

Morning Session:

We will unlock the healing power of play by using techniques that help build trust and nurture emotional growth. Through hands-on activities, we’ll explore how nonverbal expression can deepen therapeutic connections and empower meaningful client transformation.

Lunch Break: Food will be provided

Afternoon Session:

We will blend mindfulness with creative expression to enhance self-awareness and relaxation. This will be followed by a guided visualisation exercise designed to inspire imagination and reflection, ideal for integrating into therapeutic work or personal growth.

Dinner: We will book a restaurant nearby for an optional group meal (this is not part of the course cost).

Growing in Connection

Sunday Morning: 9am - 12.30pm

Join us for a morning of connection and creativity as we explore the grounding power of nature in therapy.
Through hands-on outdoor practices, we'll engage in Nature-Based Therapeutic Activities that promote mindfulness, emotional balance, and growth.
The session will culminate in a meaningful Ending Ritual to reflect on insights gained and set intentions for future growth. Together, we'll deepen our connection to ourselves, our work, and the natural world, discovering ways to help clients reduce stress and enhance their connection with nature.

Car: There's no parking at the Sailsbury Centre, but there is accommodation nearby with parking.
