Working Ethically within Systems and School Settings

 

In this module, we shall: -

  • explain the key elements of collaborative assessments when working ethically with children and young people.

  • explain the importance of boundaries when working with children and young people in different counselling settings.

  • provide examples of the types of boundary issues that may occur during counselling work with children and young people.

  • explain how to implement safe clinical practice when working with children and young people.

  • describe limitations and challenges that may be faced when working within a school setting.

  • explain how counselling can support the challenges faced by children and young people living within a care system.

  • discuss the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) ethical framework currently in place to support counselling children and young people.

  • explain the key legislation for working therapeutically with children and young people.

  • discuss the importance of supervision to support ethical practice when working with children and young people.
